About Sambok Food Stand

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Pittsburgh, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Pennsylvania run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 9 amβ4:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (412) 261-9377. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.
It has a Google rating of 5.0 out of 5, though from only 4 reviews so far, so treat the score as an early indication rather than a verdict.
Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Pittsburgh peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The staff and the food are amazing! Definitely get the chicken on a stick, and I believe this is the same place that I would stop at with my parents 40 years ago. Nostalgic! β€οΈ

Cannot recommend this spot more to anyone looking for great street food. Can't miss the mung bean cake and lemongrass chicken skewer. We visit Pittsburgh often to see family and 3x per year is never enough!

This FOOD STAND (and NOT A RESTAURANT) as such) is apparently a fixture in Pittsburghβs Strip District. Itβs just outside the Sambok Korean/Oriental Groceries. Itβs a FOODIEβS GO-TO FOR STREET FOOD AND TAKEOUTπππ. Thereβs only 5 on the menu: 1) Chicken Skewers, 2) Fried Pork Dumplings, 3) Mung Bean Pancakes, 4) Vegetable Lomein, 5) Chicken Vegetable Fried Rice. They are all very flavorful, and very very affordable prices $1.00 (dumpling) to $10.00 (large serving of lomein).ππππππ. The Lomein and Fried Rice are Korean versions, subtle flavors πππunlike the common overpowering soy-sauce based chinese-style American versions. The Dumplings are very good: they are packed with well-seasoned ground pork πππ. The Lomein, Dumplings and Fried Rice GO WELL WITH CHILI OIL πΆοΈ πππ. The Mung Bean Pancakes are exquisitely Koreanπ€©π€©π€©. It has the punch of chili (heat level 3) with fragrant spices. THESE GO WELL WITH JASMINE GREEN TEA. Service is excellent. True street food that can be consumed while go down the Strip or as takeaway. FOR TAKEAWAY, REMEMBER TO BRING AN INSULATED BAGπππ
